1. Dunes Kankakee Trail

The Dunes Kankakee trail stretches for 2.5 miles from the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center to the Indiana Dunes State Park along Lake Michigan. Bikes are available for rent at the visitor center. If you own your own bike, you can transport it via the South Shore Line train. The train has special cars designated for bicycles, making it easier than ever for cyclists to travel to the park.

2. Calumet Bike Trail

Bordering the southern boundaries of Indiana Dunes National Park and Indiana Dunes State Park, the 9.2-mile Calumet Bike Trail stretches from Cowles Bog to Mount Baldy. Be on the lookout for the many species of snakes that live along the trail including blue racer, little brown, and hognose snakes. In the summer they like to enjoy some early morning sunbathing. Summer is also the time when cardinal flowers, blazing stars, asters, fringed gentians, and great blue lobelia bloom, so you can enjoy a stunning view while cycling.
